What are the methods for identifying anti-corrosion steel pipes?
Anticorrosive steel pipe is a commonly used type of chromium nickel stainless steel. As widely used steel, it has good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low-temperature strength, and mechanical properties; the stamping, bending and other hot working properties are good, and there is no heat treatment hardening phenomenon. So what are the methods for identifying anti-corrosion steel pipes? Let's take a look together.
1. Grinding identification
Abrasion identification is to grind stainless steel on a Bench grinder and observe its sparks. If the spark is linear and has many dense knots, it is a high manganese steel or manganese nitrogen steel with high manganese content; If there are no knots, it is chromium steel or chromium nickel stainless steel.
2. Chemical qualitative identification
Chemical qualitative method is a method of identifying whether nickel is present in magnetic stainless steel. The method is to dissolve small pieces of stainless steel in aqua regia, dilute the acid solution with clean water, add ammonia to neutralize, and then gently inject nickel reagent. If there is a red fluffy substance floating on the liquid surface, it indicates that stainless steel contains nickel; If there is no red fluffy substance, it indicates that there is no nickel in stainless steel (but due to the low nickel content in stainless steel, it is generally only a few percent, and the nickel content is not easy to reveal or determine, and it usually needs to be tested multiple times with a standard sample to master).
